It’s time to celebrate Spring at The Rock Ranch. Located about an hour from Columbus, The Rock Ranch is a 1500-acre ranch dedicated to “Growing Healthy Families.”
The Rock Ranch was created by Chick-fil-A founder, S. Truett Cathy, as a foster home for children. The ranch has evolved into a public destination that serves all families and groups. They host corporate events, camps, lodging, school field trips, and public festival events. It’s a place where families, school groups, and businesses can come to enjoy “agritourism” for the day or overnight. May 4 – “May the Fourth Be with You” –Meet intergalactic superstars including Kylo, Vader, R2D2, Chewy, and Storm Troopers (bring a camera). There will be a costume contest with prizes for guests who dress for the theme, themed drones will be flying, there will be games including a Talkin’ Wookie competition, and special themed snacks. May 11 – Flower and Butterfly Festival – BYOV (Bring Your Own Vase) to this very special day of spring flowers and butterflies. Guests can cut their own flowers from a field of many blooms. Fresh cut flowers might make a nice gift on Mother’s Day Weekend. All moms will also enjoy free homemade strawberry ice cream on this date. There will be a butterfly house offering up close and personal butterfly viewing and a chance to hand-feed butterflies. There will be a mass butterfly release at 4 p.m. (great photo op). Looking Ahead to Summer
June 29 – Celebrate America at The Rock Ranch – This year the ranch is Celebrating the 243rd anniversary of the United States as well as the 20th anniversary of “Celebrate America at The Rock Ranch.” Families are invited to a day of red, white, and blue family fun and fireworks. Hours are 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $14.99 per person from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Guests entering after 6 p.m. are admitted for a flat fee of $25 per carload.
July 10-12, 17-19, 24-26 – Fun in the Summer Time – What is there to do in the Summer in Georgia? Play in the water, of course! Families, friends, daycares, and summer camps can come out to enjoy all the favorite attractions of The Rock Ranch plus inflatable water slides. Summer admission is $14.99 plus tax per person age 3 and older.
In addition, The Rock Ranch hosts Fall Family Fun Days every Saturday and Sunday in October and Saturday, November 2 is a holiday they invented “National Pumpkin Destruction Day”. For the Christmas season (November and December), The Rock Ranch features more than one mile of Christmas lights, train rides through lights, Santa’s Workshop, and Breakfasts with Santa and the Grinch.
The Rock Ranch is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019. Founded in 1989, the Ranch has influenced hundreds of thousands of guests over three decades of stewardship.
